Every time we photograph a wedding, we just realise how incredible it is that each wedding and each couple is so unique from the other. Each couple bring their own personal touches to their day and this makes being wedding photographers such a beautiful and special job. Actually, it’s more than just a job, it really is one of the biggest honours to be there to document such a special occasion. I’m not sure where to begin with Rudie and Marelize’s wedding as there’s just so much to say about this couple. When you meet a couple for the first time and start off chatting for about 2 hours before you realise, you’re actually there to photograph their engagement session, you know this is a winning relationship. These two are just amazing, so friendly, happy, warm and their energy is contagious.
Their wedding at Florence Guest Farm was certainly one for the books. Their decor and flowers (which took a few days to setup) was breathtaking and so beautifully done by Eco-Chic Weddings. It actually made their winter wedding look like spring day. There’s so many wows from this wedding. From the ladybug that came to sit on Marelize’s hand just before the ceremony, Rudie’s surprise song to Marelize, their first dance confetti, their adorable kids, but I have to just also mention Marelize’s wedding dress, designed by Yihan Bronn Couture (which weighed 18kg by the way). It made such a statement, I actually don’t have enough words to describe it!
It was also such a treat to work with our friend and super talented videographer, Jacques Crafford. Do take a moment to view their wedding film HERE. And as always, thanks to Ané from Florence for the hospitality and yummy food!
Rude & Marelize, thank you so much for allowing us to document your wedding!!!!! We’ll let the photos tell the story of this incredible wedding!
